Program Director for SRC
Liz’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in International Relations with minors in Sociology/Anthropology and Black World Studies from Ohio Wesleyan University. Upon graduating, she moved to Les Cayes, Haiti, where she lived and worked for over 2 years as a volunteer coordinator for an international non-profit supporting vulnerable children and their families. When she returned home to New Jersey, she continued to work for the organization as their communications coordinator, responsible for all of their email and social media communications as well as assisting with fundraising efforts.
Working from home (with far too little social interaction) and at the recommendation of a friend, she applied for a part-time position as a recreation therapist at a local private nursing facility. And what an amazing fit it was! Liz enjoys having the space to be creative and goofy, adaptable and empathetic, and nurturing and friendly. It was at the nursing facility that Liz was introduced to an occupational therapist, and she knew she found a career that fits her interest, skills, and personality.
While Liz is obtaining prerequisites and experience for her applications to graduate programs in occupational therapy, she is excited to serve as the Program Director for the Senior Resource Center! Beginning her service in the middle of the pandemic, she is looking forward to tackling the challenges currently faced by seniors in the Chester and Morris County area.
When she’s not working, you can find Liz out hiking on a trail somewhere, cuddled up with a book and her cats, or eating a big bowl of ice cream (mint chocolate chip, to be specific).
